Knowing more about my abilities as a lawyer is important for you to feel comfortable when selecting me as your appellate attorney.

A male lawyer; Actual Size=180 pixels wide

I was born in January, 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma. My family came to Stephenville, Texas in 1959 and I attended public schools there, graduating as the salutatorian of the Stephenville High School class of 1974. By August, 1976, I had completed a degree in Political Science at the University of Texas at Arlington and entered the University of Texas School of Law at Austin in September of 1976. Beginning in May of 1977 I clerked for the firm of McMillan & Lewellen, P.C. in Stephenville. Upon graduation from law school in May of 1979, I continued to work as an associate at McMillan & Lewellen until December, 1989, when I opened my own law office. In 1988, I received a certificate of special competence in civil appellate law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In November, 1996, I began working as an assistant district attorney (felony prosecutor), and limited my private practice to civil appellate work. I am licensed to practice before all appellate courts of the State of Texas and the Supreme Court of the United States.
